Vicodin 5/500mg is an older, discontinued prescription combination medication that contains 5 mg of hydrocodone bitartrate and 500 mg of acetaminophen. While it was historically one of the most widely prescribed drugs in the United States for moderate to severe acute pain, the 5/500mg formulation has been completely banned and removed from the market by the FDA.
